I am a Bastyr University trained Naturopathic Doctor currently practicing in Seattle, Washington. The focus of my clinical work has been Thyroid, Adrenal, Autoimmunity and GI concerns and using diet, lifestyle and nutraceutical approaches to prevent and reverse chronic illness. I have also had the pleasure of teaching (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, & Nutrition) for many years at medical and premedical programs in the Seattle area. In addition to clinical practice and teaching, I served as the Medical Science Liaison at two innovative laboratories where I helped evaluate the clinical utility of various functional and genetic tests. From 2009-2011, I was the Senior Research Fellow in Environmental Medicine for the Optimal Health & Prevention Research Foundation (OHPRF) in San Diego, CA. How would the IFM community know you?
I am IFM’s internal lead for three Advanced Practice Modules (Detox, Cardiometabolic, and Energy) and I moderate the IFM online forums. I am also involved in the development and implementation of the IFM Certification Program. What would the IFM community be surprised to learn about you?
I thoroughly enjoy growing my own vegetables, raising chickens, hiking, backcountry-skiing, biking around NW Washington, and I have been playing competitive Ultimate Frisbee for over 25 years.
