Stephanie Sharkey, Conference Supervisor
What was your background before coming to IFM?
I’ve been drawn to event planning as long as I can remember, and my first events job was in Las Vegas where I worked in Convention Services for the Bally’s and Paris properties. After my hotel experience, I managed the merchandise and retail store for a minor league professional hockey team. Prior to joining the IFM team, I worked for a non-profit association, assisting with their annual trade show and managing a certification program for landscape contractors.How would the IFM community know you?
I work in the Conference Management department, helping with the logistics of our onsite conferences. I prepare our shipment for each conference, manage the hotel room blocks, and create the Around Town documents. I also work on many aspects of the Practice Implementation Showroom (formerly Exhibit Hall) at the Annual International Conference. I look forward to each conference to interact with our amazing partners in person.What would the IFM community be surprised to learn about you?
I was born in Montreal and love the Montreal Canadiens. East coast trips in the winter to visit my family always involve checking the schedule before we book our flights, in hopes that we can catch a game. My husband and I met while working for a professional hockey team in Las Vegas.
