What was your background before coming to IFM?

I earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Tulsa in 2000, then spent several years working in various sectors as a professional and technical writer, editor, corporate trainer, and project manager. While working in the corporate world, I found myself wanting to make a dramatic change, one that would allow me to focus my time, skills, and experience on a subject about which I was passionate: Nutrition. So, I traded my career for graduate school, and in June 2015, I earned my M.S. in Nutrition from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

How would the IFM community know you?
I am a Medical Education Clinical Coordinator, and my focus is Functional Nutrition. This means that I’m responsible for overseeing the production of all nutrition-related course content and supplemental materials produced by IFM. In addition to my role at IFM, I am a private nutritionist and an adjunct faculty member at NCNM.

What would the IFM community be surprised to learn about you?

I won my high school’s first trophy for women’s golf (especially surprising since I wasn’t particularly great at the sport), and I actually enjoy assembling IKEA furniture.
