"The Functional Medicine paradigm demands that IFM's educational programs be information-rich. Adult learners mastering a new paradigm are best served by educational heuristics which impart insights. The challenge for the educational team at IFM is to deliver the information-rich material in a manner which is insight-dense. The IFM educational team will avail itself of the best practices in adult-based learning, both human and technological, to bring about this desired outcome at every step of the IFM educational path."
Dr. Luby is noted for using unconventional teaching methods and won the Teacher of the Year Award and the Residency Innovation Award multiple times in his tenure as Director of Curriculum and Education for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency in Lawrence, MA. His passion is to push the edges of creativity in teaching. As Executive Director of Medical Education, Dr. Luby coordinates the production and accreditation of IFM educational programs and products and ensures that they are of exceptional quality. Partners are encouraged to get to know Dr. Luby at the onsite programs.
Dr. Luby once put on a one-man rendition of “Waiting for Godot." You will find more of his scholarly medical writing in philosophy journals than in medical journals.
