Kristi Hughes, ND - Director of Medical Education
Dr. Kristi Hughes is a graduate of National College of Naturopathic Medicine. She opened her natural medicine practice in 1997, began her training in Functional Medicine in 2000, and has been attending IFM programs ever since. Dr. Hughes manages a naturopathic Functional Medicine residency program, lectures internationally on lifestyle and Functional Medicine, and has a passion for changing medicine.
"I feel like I am truly making a difference in transforming the medical care system though educational programs that shift the way practitioners think about the causes of disease and seek effective solutions. The staff and faculty have the same passion as I do; they live their medicine, and love to see patients heal on a deeper level."
As Director of Medical Education at IFM, Dr. Hughes works with the Functional Nutrition content and has been involved in the updated IFM toolkit. Since joining IFM in 2010, Dr. Hughes has supported the Detox, Cardio, and Energy Modules, participated in organizing multiple Annual International Conferences, teaches in the AFMCP course, works with collaborating partners, and is involved in international education programs.
Dr. Hughes, her husband Charlie, and their four young children love snowboarding, spending family time together outdoors. She loves dragging them all to Monster Jam contests. She enjoys Pilates, uninterrupted sleep, and snuggling with her bearded dragon, Spike.
