Where will my donation go? How will it be used?
IFM receives no underwriting or sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies. A small amount of sponsorship revenue for educational programs (about 11% of the annual budget) is received from nutraceutical companies and medical laboratories. All other operating and program development costs are supported by program fees, membership dues, publication sales, and charitable contributions.
In 2009, your donation provides support to bridge the gap between program income and new initiatives, including:

Development of the Functional Medicine Certification Program and Advanced Practice Modules.

Functional Medicine pilot programs that help to demonstrate the effectiveness of the functional medicine model in improving patient outcomes in a variety of clinical settings.
21st Century Medicine: A New Model for Medical Education and Practice. Now that this monograph/white paper has been written and reviewed, we are working strategically and diligently to get it in the hands of clinicians, academic medical school faculty, residency program directors, elected officials, public and private foundations, and health professions schools across the country.
