11 million journal articles in PubMed . . . 4200 journals in Medline . . . 7300 citations added weekly! Do you have the time to read and extract the relevant data? Or to integrate the data into a systematic approach that addresses the causes and mediators of complex, chronic disease? Most clinicians cannot do this on a continuing basis. The Institute for Functional Medicine is dedicated to extracting and synthesizing the data to teach—on behalf of you and your patients—just such a systematic approach. Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice is an intensive exploration of the best research and clinical experience available in the field today. We have organized the information into major categories of fundamental clinical imbalances that give rise to what we eventually diagnose as disease or primary risks of disease. In our case studies sessions, which follow the in-depth lecture presentations about the underlying science, you learn to sort and evaluate information to make it clinically applicable. Our commitment to you during the week of AFMCP is to make this journey fun, intense, rich in content and tools, and, most of all, relevant on Monday morning when you return to your clinic. The AFMCP Facuty are listed as part of the IFM Staff and Faculty section under "About IFM"and brief bios are provided. Core Faculty and Adjunct Faculty both teach in AFMCP, with some variation in the exact faculty list for any given AFMCP course.
