Annual International Conference 2012

WHAT’S REALLY NEW ABOUT THIS “NEW ERA”?
This conference presents a more inclusive understanding of cardiometabolic disease initiation and progression, emphasizing recognition of the opportunities for early intervention and best outcomes, for improved risk assessment, and for individualized care. A distinguished faculty has been hard at work for many months, sifting the evidence, reviewing clinical experiences, and integrating proposed content with the concepts and architecture of functional medicine. The result is a unique and compelling program that will stimulate the critical thinking of clinicians from a variety of disciplines who seek a more systematic, effective, and integrated approach to preventing, managing, and reversing cardiovascular and metabolic dysfunctionREAD MORE...

WHAT DOES THIS CONFERENCE OFFER CLINICIANS?

  • Functional medicine incorporates the complexity that underlies the individualization of systems biology concepts. It is rooted in understanding the interactive web that is a human being and in seeking the causes and remediation of underlying dysfunctions. FM concepts and tools have the depth, breadth, and elasticity to integrate new evidence about causation and help clinicians apply it to patient care. Specific tools for use with cardiovascular disease and cardiometabolic dysfunction will be presented.
  • The clinical application of emerging evidence is often much delayed, as practitioners attempt to keep abreast of new studies and determine which ones, if any, provide guidance on assessment, treatment, and prevention. In this conference, IFM will help clinicians understand the foundational biology of cardiometabolic syndrome, the state of the evidence for a new perspective on the model, which assessment and treatment applications are ready for patient care, and how to integrate them into an active practice.
  • Using a unique model of collecting, sorting, prioritizing, and applying patient information to clinical decision making, functional medicine provides a systematic way for clinicians to integrate a large body of data and use it to individualize effective treatment and prevention strategies.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
IFM’s 2012 Annual International Conference will present the latest information on these elements of cardiometabolic assessment, management, and prevention, and will help clinicians learn how to apply established and emerging concepts to improve patient outcomes.

If you are new to our IFM Annual International Conference, we think this will be a transformational and immersive experience in a systems biology approach to clinical assessment and treatment. Prior to the conference we will offer (and highly encourage you to participate in) a series of online webinars and readings that will bring you up to speed on the functional medicine model.

If you have attended our conferences and modules before, this will be an in-depth exploration into a critical piece of the functional medicine paradigm that will further your understanding and integration of functional medicine into your clinical practice.

Through didactic lectures, interactive case discussions, questions and answer sessions, and forums, our experienced faculty will take you on an extended discussion of vascular disease and cardiometabolic syndrome that will translate into practical clinical applications that will allow you to use this information for the improvement of patient care.
