About the GI APM:
This
advanced practice module, Restoring Gastrointestinal Equilibrium:
Practical Applications for Understanding, Assessing, and Treating Gut
Dysfunction, will guide the clinician in assessing gastrointestinal
function as it relates to systemic and local disease. At the conclusion
of the onsite and web-based program, the clinician will have tools and
knowledge to improve and restore optimal gastrointestinal function using
individualized applications of dietary, lifestyle, nutritional,
botanical, and pharmaceutical treatments.
At its core, this program is about practical applications.
Too often we have heard the question, “Functional medicine makes sense,
but how can I clinically apply it?” Our faculty has spent years
synthesizing information and gaining clinical experience in the area of
gut dysfunction. The result is a program whose content is organized and
presented in a clear, concise format—from conceptual understanding to
scientific rationale, to treatment modalities. We have coupled practical
steps in clarifying underlying imbalances with offering specific
treatment approaches. Our aim is to make the complex and numerous
connections between gut dysfunction and overall health and
disease—between knowing the information and applying the
information—clear and understandable.
